I Hate This Part

Mental Health Prescription Medication

I hate this part. I have a feeling one of my meds is not working right and trying to figure out which one is a royal pain. My brain is just racing off to speeds which is just not pleasant which points at Seroquel as being the guilty party but the headache that has come along with it feels like Effexor withdrawal.

Seroquel is a wonderful drug in my case and as long as I stay on top of my diet and exercise program I am not to concerned with the side effects of the medication. What has me concerned if this is where the problem lies I alright am at a pretty high dose taking 100mg four times a day which my doctor is not crazy about already. Normally the 100mg dose of Seroquel is good for about four hours but for the last few days it has been effective for half of that. I am not sure though it is the problem.

Effexor has been at the same dose for quite sometime now and have been through Effexor withdrawal in the past the headache seems all to familiar. The good part is the brain zaps have not shown up which may be an indicator that Effexor is not the problem. For those of you are wondering a brain zap is pretty typical of antidepressant withdrawal for the category of Effexor and Paxil. Brain zaps do not hurt but they are annoying as hell. Kind of feels like the wires in your brain have a sudden short so a shock is being produced which you feel in your head. Annoying as all hell for they appear out of nowhere.

Cymbalta is a new drug for me and has been part of my drug cocktail since the start of November. I am not familiar with the signs of withdrawal for this particular medication so I can not rule it out. Now I think about it I am not really familiar with Cymbalta itself so maybe some research is due.

The problem with taking multiple medications is when something is going wrong it is difficult to figure out which one is at fault. Did I mention I hate this part. Take care.

Oh boy I can relate so well. I never know what is causing what and there are times I have to wonder if I have a physical problem going on or it’s medication/mental health related.

  2. Cymbalta has similar withdrawal effects as Effexor, from what I’ve read. They’re similar meds, both SSNRI’s I believe. Gianna would know more about it, might check with her.

I have a really good memory unless it involves names so I am going to have to ask who Gianna is. Thanks for the info regarding cymbalta. Take care
